Welcoming our new faculty!

We are excited to introduce our new faculty members that have joined us this school year - Miss Stoutz and Mr. Sheffield. Bringing classical education experience, Miss Stoutz and Mr. Sheffield are tremendous additions to our teaching staff. We hope you get the chance to meet them around the school and parish!

My name is Bridget Stoutz, and I will be teaching Chesterton students Latin II and English Composition and will be assisting with theatre and choir. I just moved to Yuba City from Steubenville, Ohio, where I've lived most of my life, and I'm grateful for the warm welcome I've received. In May, I graduated from Thomas Aquinas College in Massachusetts with a B.A. in Liberal Arts.

Having tutored privately and taught ballroom dance lessons, I decided to go into education with the dream of guiding and inspiring students to seek truth, beauty, and goodness. The Chesterton Academy model provides everything I was looking for in a school: a liberal arts curriculum, a Socratic seminar pedagogy, daily mass, consistent prayer, freedom to tweak course objectives, a theatre program, and everything conducted according to Catholic principles.  I’m here to help hand down our heritage in the form of Catholic classical education. When I’m not working, I enjoy gardening, hiking, and baking.

Hi, I'm Tanner Sheffield.  I graduated from Thomas Aquinas College (TAC), New England last spring and I'm happy to be back in Yuba City teaching at a small Catholic Liberal Arts school.  It is so exciting that we have a liberal arts school in Yuba!

Since this is a bio, I suppose this is where I tell you some interesting things about myself.  I've won 3 collegiate dance competitions and come in second twice.  I love playing guitar.  Junior and Senior Natural Science were my favorite classes at TAC - In those classes we studied the mathematical proofs used by Galileo, Newton, and Maxwell to prove theorems about the physical world.  My work-study job at TAC was making videos for the school.  I love hiking - my favorite trail is Silver Falls in Northern Oregon. I'm looking forward to the school year and am so thankful for the community here at Chesterton Academy of the Most Holy Eucharist!

Pray with us! We are praying for you!

Please join us tomorrow, Thursday, September 7th at 3:30 P.M. in St. Isidore Church for a Holy Hour before the Blessed Sacrament.

We invite you to reach out with specific intentions that we can pray for during this Holy Hour.

Thank you to all who joined us for Mass on the first day of school!
